They tried another baby tiger and that went a little better. The first baby tiger was obviously not handled by humans alot and very cranky, the handlers kept forcing the bottle in its mouth, which was obvious he didnt want. We were rushed in, sat down, told to cup our hands. We visited the Preservation station and paid the $175.00 PLUS tax for all 4 of us to engage in the picture taking experience. You can find out more about the work we've been doing by visiting the Rare Species Fund website.Īgain we appreciate your concern for the animals, it is our top-most priority. Preservation Station makes these projects possible. Among them is the hand delivery of supplies to mountain gorilla researchers in Uganda, paying the salary of anti-poaching scouts in the Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe, the funding for equipment to support anti-poaching measures for rhinos in South Africa, and most recently (as of March 2014) the establishment of Wildlife Rescue Unit for injured wildlife inside the Kaziranga Tiger Reserve in India. Since your visit, we have participated in many conservation projects around the world. To date we have generated more than $1million for in-situ conservation efforts. The photos being taken at Preservation Station are quite the opposite of exploitation as they not only are helping keep the animals you saw in optimal health and happiness, the money is helping to fund international wildlife conservation projects. The animals receive the very best in diet and health care and enjoy a level of enrichment far beyond almost an other animals in captivity. The rest of the their lives are spent on a 50-acre preserve here in Myrtle Beach that is not open to the general public. To allay some of your concerns, the animals at Preservation Station only spend 2-3 hours per day in the exhibit and that is only for half of the year. I appreciate your concern for the animals, but feel that you have jumped to conclusions that may not be accurate. Thank you for your interest in T.I.G.E.R.S.
